This Privacy Policy explains how Find Your Hangout (“we”, “us”, or “the App”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application on Android or iOS. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Find Your Hangout helps people discover places, create hangout plans, chat with friends, and see nearby people who choose to share their presence and location.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:
- Account information: email address, display name, username/handle, profile photo, bio, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with email/password or Google Sign-In.
- Profile & social data: follow relationships, follow requests, hangout availability status, mood, and similar profile settings you choose to set.
- Hangout / plan content: plan titles, descriptions, times, places, visibility settings, invites, join requests, and cover images you upload.
- Messages: chat messages you send in direct, group, or plan chats.
- Location: approximate or precise device location when you grant permission, so we can show you on the map, find nearby people/places, and support hangout “Available” presence. Location is only shared with others according to the choices you make in the App.
- Device & push tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens and basic platform information so we can send notifications you allow (for example chat messages or plan invites).
- Online presence: online/offline status and last-seen timestamps used to show whether you are active in the App.
- Usage / technical data: basic diagnostics that may be processed by Firebase services (such as authentication events or crash/performance signals if enabled).
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide core App features (plans, maps, chat, follows, invites)
- Show nearby people and places when you opt in
- Send push notifications you have permitted
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
- Comply with legal obligations when required
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we share information
We may share information:
- With other users, according to your settings — for example your profile, hangout availability, shared location pin, plans you create or join, and messages you send to chat members.
- With service providers that power the App, including Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Hosting, and related Google Maps / Places services used for location and place search).
- When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Third-party services

6. Permissions
Depending on your device, the App may ask for:
- Location — map, nearby people, hangout availability
- Camera / photos — profile pictures, plan covers, QR pairing
- Notifications — chat and social alerts
You can revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features may stop working without them.
7. Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active and as needed to provide the App. You may delete content you control (such as plans you host, where the App allows) or request account deletion. Backup copies and logs may persist for a limited period for security and operational reasons.
8. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it. 9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards provided by Firebase and related Google Cloud services, including encrypted transit (HTTPS) and access-controlled backends. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access or update profile information in the App
- Turn off location, camera, or notification permissions
- Sign out or delete your account
- Request a copy or deletion of personal data we hold

11. International processing
Your information may be processed on servers operated by Google in the United States or other countries where Google operates. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
